IT"S ALL GOOD!

Even among the hardest trials, if at the end of the day we are still a family, It's all good!

Much To Be Thanful For!

I am still waiting on my welcome letter so that I know when I will be starting work. I know the manager of the store is waiting for the same letter. I have been hired to both of our knowledge. The letter is a formality! Shawn and I spent almost the entire day painting our bedroom. This house is in such poor shape, simple things such as painting take more time. Shawn had so much repair work to do first. We are both pretty tired out tonight! After dinner tonight I was able to see my first southern thunderstorm. It was intense! The lightening was unlike any I have ever seen and the thunder just rolled on and on. We were also under a tornado watch, none materialized here. We had so much rain it just puddled up because the ground couldn't soak it up fast enough! It did cool the temperature down to a bit more bearable. It is also less humid. I can not believe I am saying that it is hot and humid in February! But that is exactly what it was! It was over all a good day! Today  I spoke with Beth, from Family Promise. She and her agency were the ones who set us up in the hotel when we were homeless. She was/is so good to us! I just wanted to let her know I had a job. She is such a nice person, it always lifts my mood after I have spoken to her! I pray God blesses her and the work that she does! There are so many in need and  require the help she offers! On another good note, the agency that provided us with sheets and blankets when we first moved into the house will be helping me with some work clothes this week. God always open a door! I am very grateful! We have much to be thankful for, God has been good to us and has blessed us richly!

More Painting

I slept better than I have in quite a while! Nothing beats a good night sleep! This morning Shawn and I are hoping to paint our bedroom. It will be the first of the 3 bedrooms. Kelly's will be next and then Kate Lynn's if we can get the roof repaired above her room. It is supposed to rain on and off here today, however it is still pretty warm. I guess I had better get my head wrapped around the whole idea of February being warm! I hope all of you have a wonderful Monday!

Better Mood

A happier afternoon, for the most part. Kate Lynn and I went to church. Kelly stayed home and tended to the dishes that she should have tended to last night! Shawn finished muding the repair work in our bedroom, the walls were in horrible shape. I came home after church to see we had a house full of kids and that is how it has been all day! Shawn and I are getting a little annoyed. We love kids but today has been a little much. Even the real little ones have been over a couple times and they do not even knock! You are in the middle of something and in walks a little one! I put a band aid and cleaned up a boo boo one time he showed up. In just a very short while all kids are going to be redirected toward their own homes and we are going to implement some quiet into this house! A couple of these kids have been here just before 11am! On a very positive note, I  stopped by the store I will be working for and received the tentative date for me to start. It is looking like Tuesday. Now I just need to figure out the clothes and shoes! I am supposed to wear black slacks, black shoes and blue shirts (either royal or navy) and I have none of the above in my closet! For the shoes, until I can buy some new ones, I will be borrowing a pair of black clod hopper, dress boots from Kate Lynn. I suspect my back and legs are going to feel real wonderful after wearing those! I am glad to have a job, the clothes thing will work itself out after a little bit! Right now I should be contemplating dinner, however I am doing my best not to entice any longer visiting! And quite honestly I am pretty hungry!

Not a Happy Me

I slept very well last night, Praise the Lord! Now I am up and grouchier than a bear! Typical stuff, all you moms and women out there can relate to! Just feeling a little taken advantage of this morning. I got up with the idea to make a big Sunday breakfast before we went to church. That is not going to happen because of the on going argument we are having in our house. I cook dinner and ask for  food to be put away and dishes to be done and only half gets done. Every morning then I am finding myself washing dishes and cleaning the kitchen. It is not making for a happy me! And because I have not been feeling well the past day or so, as well as being quite busy helping Shawn with the repair projects around the house, this morning I am even less the happier me! I am drinking some coffee and trying to simmer down, not a whole lot of luck with the simmering down! I think I will do absolutely NO cooking today and as for the dishes I guess there is going to be a pretty big pile dishes in the sink! I have to get myself ready for church and I feel pretty bad. I know it will only be God's will to get me in the right mood and frame of mind!

I have the Job!

What started as painting the door turned into painting the window, painting parts of the porch, painting all the trim around the outside of the front porch windows and doors and a cleaning of the porch and front yard project! It was actually a very nice day! As we worked neighbors stopped by and chatted. One neighbor stopped by to see if Shawn could do some painting in her house. The weather was so nice and it was very nice to be outside doing projects. Now when you come up onto the porch it is welcoming, clean and neat, very pretty! We are all pretty tired! The girls were quite helpful! And for a while we had another puppy visiting and that gave Izzy some time to play with another puppy! She too had a good day! Now I really need to go get into the shower! Also on a very good note; I received a call from Ross and I do have the job! I have to call her back tomorrow to confirm everything. I am hoping to figure a way to get the proper clothes for the job. Thankfully there are some good second hand stores nearby. I will figure that out tomorrow! So a very good day!

Coffee Fueled Projects

I am feeling better than I did last night, thank goodness. However, I slept horribly! Oh well, I will drink way too much coffee and move on! Shawn is prepping the front door for painting this morning, project number one! So I had better get that second cup of coffee soon! I think the plan is to stay home this weekend, other than church. Sounds good to me. Though Shawn and I are planning when he and I can take our first road trip so that I may explore more of the south! Just him, Izzy and I and a cooler of food! The nice thing about the girls getting older! No worries, they will be given the opportunity to explore as well! Happy weekend everyone!

No Job!

After lunch I was decidedly not feeling well! Not sure what is up, I just feel pretty punk! Maybe we need a little more relaxation time and fewer project? Fewer projects would not allow the house to get done the way it needs too! This afternoon Shawn spent a good deal of time fixing the front door, now we don't have day light pouring in through the cracks around it. Poor guy, every time he would repair one thing with it, it would become obvious something else needed straightening! It is much, much better now! Maybe our utilities will be lower. I am pretty sure a whole lot of our heat went right out the door! I am so lucky Shawn is so handy with things like that! Next week we have to discuss a serious roof issue with our landlord. When It rains Kate Lynn has a waterfall running down one of her walls! Not a good thing! This house is in rough repair, we keep trying to see the potential with it. If the Landlord agrees to fix the major problems, well paying for it and letting Shawn do the repairs, the house could be lovely. The handyman our Landlord uses isn't very handy and his apprentice is his 15 year old son. They are very nice people, just lousy handymen! We have taken some photos of the things that need repair and we will be showing them to our landlord next week. I hope it goes well!
Not a whole lot else going on, including me having a job. They never called me back after the interview! That is OK, there is something out there for me,I just have to be patient! I think for now I need to consider an early bed time and go get some sleep, so that maybe I will feel better tomorrow! I hope all of you are wll! Good Night!

Busy Bees

It is going to be one of those days! Somehow this morning we have been busy and have nothing really to show for it! We do this a lot, we are busy as heck doing.....what? Right now I am sitting down to eat and have a coffee! And then we will see how we can kill the rest of the day! Happy Friday!

Missing "Our" Kids!

A bit of a late night! I made dinner and as usual Shawn's phone rings! No big deal, Ricky needed Shawn to go back over and put the washing machine back together. It had been broken and recently repaired. Ricky wasn't sure how it went back together. Shawn made quick work of it. While we were gone Cory came over. It has become pretty habitual, dinner rolls around and here come Cory! He eats dinner with us, well tonight with the girls and then we all watch TV, he plays some games on the PC. Tonight we watched Winter Wipe out. The girls and I played Rummy, while Cory played games on the PC. He is a good kid and I think he is looking for a better place to hang out. Shawn and I do not mind that it is here. He has a girlfriend, not sure the whole story there. Kid just needs a  little more positive influence in is life, we do our best to provide that and a good meal. Better here than in trouble is our motto!  Besdies we had so many kids in and out of our house when we lived in New Hampshire it only makes sense to be doing the same here! We miss all the kids who spent so much time with us up North! We are so hoping a couple of them will be able to come and spend some time with us this summer! They are all our adopted kids! Well I am tuckered out, and I need all the beauty sleep I can get, trust me!

No Prescription Luck

No luck having my prescription refilled! I may have to go the emergency room, in order to establish a patient record! The walk in clinic I was referred to can not see me until March 30th! I told Shawn at this point I may wait it out. I am not worried about the anxiety, I have learned to manage that quite well. I am worried about side effects from stopping the medication abruptly! We will see! When we got home Shawn, Kate Lynn and I raked and cleaned the front yard. Looks wonderful! Now we are cooling of inside! It turned out to be quite warm! In a few minutes I may try to drag Shawn away from the TV and see if we complete some painting projects! Though he looks pretty comfy!!

Early Start

Up early this morning! Going to have a coffee or two, take a shower and then off to check out a clinic. It would be nice if everything goes well this morning! That is it for this morning! Hope you all have a good day!

Prescription Prayers

Another night of American Idol! We are becoming a little addicted! It has been a pretty quiet day. Completed  some projects, started others! I have one prayer request! Tomorrow I have to find a clinic that will refill my prescription! I take a medication for anxiety, can you imagine, and my refills have run out. I have not had my medication for two days. We do not have insurance, so finding a Doctor is proving difficult! The med itself is inexpensive, I just need a new prescription! I am hoping I will have more success than I have! This is not a medication you should ever stop abruptly! Thank You for your prayers!

SWATT Team Morning

It has all ready been a very interesting morning! We are definately not in the country anymore! Our young neighbor next door has been dealing in some extra curiicular activity and today we were able to witness a SWATT take down! Shawn saw this truck parked in front of our house at an odd angle and went to investigate, only to hurry in to tell me what was going on! The young man was arrested! We are relieved not only do we not have to worry abou his dealings (at least while he is in jail!) and his Grandfather, whom he was living with, will have some peace and quiet! His Grandfather is quite elderly and I do not think at all well. He is also a very kind man who was being taken advantage by his  grandson!'I do hope the rest of the day is much less eventful! I can not say quieter, the US Marshalls were actually quite quiet! We did not even hear the doors being broken in! They are good!! The only thing that is sort of funny, the US Marshalls use unmarked cars for these things, trust me when I say they are far nicer cars than what can be called descrete!
Now I will focus on my coffe and then go line the buffet drawers!

Trash Picking!

Shawn finished the bathroom this morning. Afterward he and I went out and had coffee on the porch, while sitting there we noticed our neighbor had thrown out a dresser. We looked at it a few times and honestly it was in rough shape. But after much discussion and some ideas we decided to go ahead and pick it out of the trash! So the rest of the afternoon was planned! We spent the remainder of the day transformer a pretty icky dresser into a very lovely buffet. And it matches the reburshed dining room set perfectly! Our house is really becoming home! I know trash picking isn't for most people, I guess we aren't most people. We have transformed some trash finds into some pretty wonderful peices. Now we are resting! The past few days have been very busy! And despite that I suspect there are still finishing touches that need to be done tomorrow! Maybe we can scan some better neighborhoods for better trash! :)

Two Important Thoughts

Good Morning! This is my 200th post! I hope you are still checking them out. I know some days they are better than others, I keep working on it! Thank you all for your support and prayers!
I have to talk a little about the weather here. Last night we slept the night without the heat! It has been a very strange February for me! The past week has been incredibly warm and in the back of my head I keep waiting for the cold to come back! Shawn and  I just watched the weather and it looks like I had better get used to it being warm! Thursday is supposed to  be around 80! I guess I could get used to this!
On two more serious notes; Please, be in prayer for those in New Zealand! It is a tragedy over there!
And the 2cnd Today I am asking for you to wear blue in honor of the families who have lost loved ones who committed suicide. Whether you know someone personally who took their own life or not, suicide itself should never be honored. We should be supportive of the families it has effected. So if you would wear blue, that would be awesome!
Thank You!

A Kelly Meal

I went to my interview this afternoon, I believe it went well. I will find out in a couple days if I have the job! I am praying that I get it and also that it doesn't screw up the benefits we have worked so hard to get! I am not going to fret over it yet. It has been a good day! We have the bathroom 98% finished. The door needs to be finished and that will complete the painting! It looks incredible! Shawn and I are very happy with the out come! My lovely husband has been incredibly wonderfuly patient!
Kelly cooked dinner tonight. Pizza, mozzarrella sticks and cupcakes! A Kelly meal!It was still good! Now it is time to rest!

Extended Weekend

I went to bed last night without writing another post! I was so very, very tired! Shawn and I worked all day on the bathroom and finishing the dining room table. On top of cleaning the kitchen and cooking a big dinner, I was spent! After watching "Extreme Home Make Overs" , I showered and went to bed. I slept like a log, until 7:20 am! I really needed the sleep! This  morning it is coffee and then finishing the bathroom. Later this afternoon I go to my job interview at Ross. It would be so nice to get back to work! Kelly is home today due to it being President's day, so today feels like an extended weekend! For everyone off today and enjoying a three day weekend, relax, enjoy and have some fun. For all the others stuck working, sorry! I sympathize!

Under the Weather

Uh-oh, not feeling all to good this morning! I have been up since around 2am! Too many projects to get done! And I can not be sick, I have a job interview tomorrow! Oh well I will try to get some rest, if I need it and take it as easy as I can! It is looking like another beautiful day here and it is supposed to get up near 80 degrees today! February?? Not too sure church is in the cards today, I have a couple hours to see how I feel. I will not whine anymore! I hope all of you have a nice day!

Our Saturday in a Nutshell

We added another project to the list! Painting the bathroom! Which I have 1/2 painted as of right now. The table isn't quite finished. Hopefully both projects will be completed! We ended up cleaning out the truck and spending a lot of time outside! It was so lovely out not to be outside! We had a dinner guest this evening. A young man from the neighborhood. I may have mentioned him before, Shawn gives him a ride to school every morning. The past couple days he has shown up at our house and  has been hanging out with us. Very nice young man! He probably thinks we are a little silly! Shawn and I love it when the kids all want to hang out at our house. It allows us to get to know them and we can be sure no one is getting into any trouble! Right now we are all watching Winter Wipe out, it is pretty funny! I am pretty tuckered out and need to go get my butt in the shower. I am pretty well covered with paint! I never said I was a neat painter. But i do a pretty good job! And that is our Saturday in a nutshell!

Happy Weekend!

We all slept in today! Guess we needed it! Kate Lynn has taken a walk and just texted me she found a yard sale. Guess she might be doing a little shopping on her walk then! Not a lot of plans today! We have to finish the final steps to the dining room table. Maybe some raking, or not! If it is as nice as it supposed to be, I may have to convince Shawn and the girls to go to a local park to have lunch and play with Izzy! Just going to enjoy the day!

Job Interview!

Hooray! I have a job interview on Monday! It is a nearby department store, Ross. I applied for a part time position a week ago and they called me today to set up an interview. I can not believe I finally have an interview! I only had to fill out dozens of applications! I am praying this will work out! I enjoy the store, it s similar to TJ Maxx. It would be nice to be productive, even if it is just part time!
Today I kept Shawn very busy painting the dining room table! It has 3 paint colors and a stain. He chose a very pretty design and the whole set is looking pretty amazing. Tomorrow we will finish it up (like how I said "we"). The last color needs  second coat and then a lacquer clear coat to seal the whole thing. Like I said in a previous post, the furniture we were given was great furniture, it just needed a little sprucing up!
I continue to have trouble reading or seeing the computer screen with my contact in. I am going to keep wearing it for the week trial. If it doesn't improve I am going to give it up! I would rather see what is right in front of me than what is far away! And I can not give up reading!

Izzy weighs In

No sun this morning! Still a nice day from what I can tell, so looking forward to it! We are hoping to finish up the d1i
0ninG
 RM set t8572

the dining room set. If you wonder what just happened here, Izzy has decided to help me with writing this morning. And I decided to leave it! She had her first bath last night and is quite fluffy this morning! She,like every morning, is also quite hyper!
I have a prayer request for a family in New Hampshire. Cody, a young man that dated Kelly and we adopted as one of our own (unofficially!), his Dad is quite sick. He had surgery just last week on his intestines and yesterday there were complications. He is back in the hospital. Be in prayer for him. But be in prayer for Cody as well, he fell of a roof and injured his back. Cody is also the main support for his family. He drives his Grandmother to Portland, ME for Dialysis, does all the grocery shopping and much more. Way too much for a young man still in school. He is often asked to skip school to get things done. I am worried for Cody and his dad. Their family lost another kid, Cody's older brother last year in a very tragic accident. They do not need another tragedy. Please be in prayer for this family!

Weird Vision!

First the girls and their glasses and now I have my one contact lens! It is strange after all these years to see anything out of that eye! I am having great difficulty seeing to read. I understand it takes some time to adjust! In a few minutes I am going to take the dog for a walk around the neighborhood and see how I do.  Boy oh boy, my vision is so weird!

Spring Like Winter

The past few days I have mentioned that it has been beautiful here in Montgomery, have I told you that it is extremely odd to the girls and I! We were talking to each other on Valentines.'s day and explaining how it did not feel like February. Our calendars in our heads are all confused! In February we have known nothing else than cold and snow. It has been a little surreal here! We are definitely enjoying it though! Nothing like spending a warm, sunny day outside! I have struggled with cabin fever in the past, anxious and moody about the seeming never ending winter. That has not been the case this winter. We have had our cold days, that is for sure. But far fewer than I am used too. Today I will be enjoying another beautiful day! And I will  be spending some time outdoors, maybe lunch on the porch! For all my friends and family in New England; stay warm! I miss you all, not the weather, I am enjoying our spring like winter!

Stinky Night!

Oops! I just saw my last post and realized I had a spelling error in the title! Room not romm! It has been a very busy day! Shawn and I fixed the bed, painted and reupholstered all the dining room chairs, started the dining room table, plus the laundry I have done, the dishes and the cooking of dinner! I am pooped! Hoping for a good night sleep and that I will not get  a headache, the stain  really stinks! Tomorrow we will finish the dining room table! Can not wait! Right now Kate Lynn and I are watching "American Idol. Talk about drama! Man, it is stinky!

Dining Romm Table Redo!

Well rather than looking at the spray paint sitting on the dining room floor any longer, today the dining room table set gets an over haul! We have been so blessed by the furniture that had been given to us and though in great shape, doesn't quite suite our style. That is why spray paint was invented! Why get rid of perfectly good furniture when you can paint it and reupholster the seats. That is what we will be doing! I am really looking forward to seeing the end results! Also on the to do list is repairing Shawn and my bed. The bed was also given to us and it is a gorgeous bed, however it had been shipped from overseas and had not been put back together the way it should have been. Now the head board leans far forward and puts strain on the legs. Shawn has figured out how to fix it and after today I can stop worrying every time I climb in to the bed the legs are going to snap! Today is the perfect day for spray painting, it is going to be in the 70's here in Montgomery and no wind! So that is the plans for today! I will post before and after photos of our work!

Kate Lynn's Turn !

Yesterday Kelly, today Kate Lynn! Kate Lynn used part of her tax monies to go have her eyes tested and get a new script for glasses. Her eyes have worsened over the past couple years and she certainly needed a new prescription! The Doctor she saw, saw her at 12:30 and had her glasses ready by 2:30! How is that for services! She,like Kelly is very over joyed. Both will be adjusting to their new glasses and vision over the next couple of days! There are days I wish my sight was better. This morning would be one of those days! Kate Lynn treated Shawn and I to Sonics for breakfast and I ordered by picture, the menu board was on the other side of the truck! I thought the picture of the breakfast burrito looked good, so I asked Shawn to order it for me. I was expecting scrambled egss, sausage and peppers in the buritto. Trusting what I saw and not asking any further I dove right in. Imagine my surprise when I had a mouth full of jalepeno  peppers and tater tots! Yes, there was eggs, sausage and cheese like I thought. But I have never had a breakfast sandwich with hot peppers and tater tots! Funny thing is, the thing was actually good! Who knew! It was another beautiful day here in Montgomery! Tonight we have been watching VHS movies, yes VHS! And having a finger food night. Nothing like a M.Knigt Shyamalan movie, "Signs" and some mozzarrella sticks! Now Kate Lynn and I are watching "Good Will Hunting". A pretty good night!

Painting Time

I slept like a log last night and now I am up way too early! Now I have a very hyper active puppy impeding any chance that I could have for a quiet coffee! Hoping to get some painting done today! We bought paint for the bedrooms and the cans are just sitting there waiting! What a difference they will make once the paint is on the walls! I know the girls are ex specially anxious for us to get started. And we had better before they decide to try painting themselves! The last time Kate Lynn tried that, she dumped half a gallon Orange paint onto a brand new rug!! That wasn't good! For now I may grab my coffee and take it out into the backyard so the puppy can go out and run off some energy, maybe chew up a stick or two!

Valentines Madness and Calm!

It started out so well today! Then Kelly had a 2:30 appointment for her shots! Let me first tell you I am struggling a whole lot with driving here in Montgomery and I am still prone to get lost! We got stuck in traffic and got to the appointment 5 minutes late! They decided to punish us I guess, and made us wait an hour before calling Kelly in for her shots! When I left I took a wrong turn somewhere and got lost! By now the traffic is unbelievable! And my blood pressure was sky high! I wish I could tell you I handled it with grace and patience! There was none of either in that truck! I am embarrassed by my language and appalled by my anger!! My dog should not have witnessed it, let alone the girls! If God showed up during that ride he would have surely washed my mouth out and gave me a well deserved what for! I pray that I learn to better cope and understand the traffic here! I also pray that I will learn the area quickly so I do not keep getting lost! I have since apologized to the girls and yes, even the dog for my behavior. I will settle up with God later! I hate myself when I get that angry! There are just so many new things for me to get used to and I loved the way things were in New Hampshire! I think I need to work a little harder at being flexible! I do like Montgomery, it has a lot to offer. The traffic is not the best of Montgomery!
Shawn and I have not been out on a real date, just the two of us in so long I am not able to tell you when! Tonight we decided to do just that! We went to Olive Garden and had the best date night! The service was incredible and the food even better! The time we spent just the two of us, relaxing and just talking, was much needed! We are both in much better spaces tonight! I believe with all we have been through, that we have ignored the fact we need to spend some time just the two of us to reconnect and get back on the same page! As long as we have been married, I guess it easy to take one another for granted. Tonight for 2 hours, over a delicious meal we were able to put each other first! When we got home we were pleased to see everything here was just fine and there were no issues! Of course the girls were quite anxious to see if we brought home left overs and any we did have are now gone! That was our Valentine's to them...left overs!
I hope all of you have a had a great day! Thank you for your continued prayers and thoughts!

P.S. Before I forget!! Kelly has her new glasses tonight! And she is overjoyed!

Good Monday

Not sure what the plans are for today. I know Kate Lynn I am sure wants to do a little more shopping! Other than that I may take the puppy for a walk and just enjoy the beautiful day! I am going to get all the cleaning that needs to be done this morning and go with the flow with the day! Hope everyone has a good Monday!

Tea and Cake Calling

Church was awesome! I am so glad God pointed us to Heritage Baptist church! After church we went and picked up some soda and snacks, need something to munch on while watching TV tonight! We (well Shawn mostly!) fixed all the lights and the plumbing issues. Funny the things that make us feel good! It was such a beautiful day out today! We enjoyed some ball time in the Yard with the puppy! I am tuckered out now! I thought I was getting some exercise walking, apparently not as much as I thought! I did not think I was out of shape, until trying to keep up with the puppy! I have to tell you I am blessed with a great husband, he really put a lot of work in today. Just as dinner was finished up cooking he received a call. His friend had a washing machine mishap and Shawn rushed right over to help. He came home just a few minutes ago, showered, microwaved his dinner and is now resting in front of the TV. I think a little relaxation time is in order for all of us! I think I hear a cup of tea and a slice of Lemon bundt cake calling my name! Whom am I to ignore the calling!

Kate Lynn's not Biting

It's Sunday and that means church! The girls and I are going by ourselves, Shawn has to look into the ongoing septic issue! He is very patient about it! If you met the handyman our landlord uses, you would understand why Shawn fixes things himself. All though the man is very nice, he just isn't very handy! It is looking like it is going to be a very nice day here in Montgomery this morning, that means a walk for Izzy! She is doing so well! Another night of no accidents! That makes the 3rd night in a row, I think we have her just about 95% house broken! Right now she is chasing the cat around the house! I have to tell you this funny story; Some of you may not know but Kate Lynn takes a walk every morning. This morning one of the young gentlemen in the neighborhood thought she was cute and struck up a conversation with her. He also followed her home and as I write this he is outside chatting with Shawn and Kate Lynn is hiding in the house! I tried to convince her to go back out and see if he is worth talking to longer and she won't bite! She is so stinking shy!
All right have to go get myself ready for church! happy Sunday!

Electricty Projects

We had another busy day! Right now Shawn is addressing a ceiling fan in the living room. The electrical in the house is a little scary. He is trying to fix it one light, one outlet and one switch at a time. Let me tell you after showering you dried very well before shutting the lights off! Or it would leave you all tingly and slightly confused! As much fun for that for everyone else in the house, it was decided to fix the problem! Earlier we spent the day with Shawn's friend Ricky. Ricky probably went home thinking we are a strange little family! He is right and that is OK! We discovered Izzy loves lemonade! I would recommend that from now on we put it in a bowl. The whole free for all in the paper cup, in the truck, made a big mess! I had the joy and honor of taking the girls to the mall this evening, a Saturday evening! Kate Lynn got her taxes in and wanted to got the mall! SHOOT ME! I hate the mall on a Tuesday morning, never mind a freak'n Saturday evening! UGH!! I deserve mother of the year after tonight! OK I am done with the rant! It has been a good day over all! I hope all of you are having a good weekend!

Let the Projects Begin!

Slept extremely well last night! Woke up to another good night for Izzy, dry and clean floors this morning! She is learning! So now the dog, our two indoor kitties and the outdoor kitty we have inherited (yes, our own fault!) have all been fed this morning. Now it is my turn for some coffee! It is not quite 8am and the projects have begun! It has started with the mail box being hung. I can not express to you just how much that needs to be fixed in this house. We are hoping to speak with our landlord within the next month or so and addressing the floor issues! Kate Lynn, Shawn and my bedrooms have the nastiest, stained rug you can imagine! This is not just being fussy! When we looked at the place our landlord stated he would be replacing them and hasn't yet. We figure it was because he had to address the water and gas leak issues first. There are also areas in the dining room and bathroom were we have to step pretty lightly. I won't even tell you about the leaky bathroom and how the entire toilet and floor area needs replacing! We understand we are getting a great deal on the house, but we have to have the safety and health jeopardizing issues fixed sooner or later! We are not complaining!! Over all we really like the place and have gotten very comfortable in the neighborhood! It takes a great sense of humor to appreciate soft floors. Thank fully we all have that! Hope everyone has great weekend!

Putting Down Roots!

We spent the day out! Finally were able to register the car and now we have the official Alabama license plates! We had to put some insurance on the car. Probably a very good idea here in Montgomery. However, it is certianly an added expense. We never carried insurance in New Hampshire.! I can hear the groaning! We purchased some paint for the bedrooms and some lights. It is funny the things we have always taken for granted and haven't had and truly missed. Like a colander! We have a new one of those too today! It turned out to be a very nice day, a chilly breeze, but a bright and warm sun! We are all very, very tired! We need to get all the rest we can tonight, painting to do this weekend! Looking forward to these grungy walls looking fresh and clean! The one other thing we did today that has just made my whole month, we got my camera out of pawn! Now I will be able to take some photos of were we have started over and of course of our new puppy. If I am lucky maybe I will even convince my family to allow me to take a family photo! It is feeling like we are putting our roots down more and more everyday!

The Lord ALWAYS Provides!

Praise the Lord the day is good! First off I woke up to NO puppy messes! She made it the whole night, big milestone! And our taxes came in! Yay, it is so much easier to start the car and drive it, rather than push it! We must have glided into the driveway yesterday after Kelly's eye appointment! The first thing we do this morning is go get gas in the truck! Then we can address some bills! Then maybe I can convince Shawn that he and I need at least a lunch, just the two of us this weekend! I am unbelievably thankful! We had not been expecting our taxes so soon, there was a bit of a snafu with them. (No surprise there, right!?) So when I checked our account I woke up the rest of my sleeping brood! It is so easy, even after all we have been through and seen what God has done for us, to forget that he ALWAYS provides!

Another Appointment Done

We picked up Kelly from school and then drove her to her eye appointment. Her eyes have worsened over the past couple years, so it looks like she will be wearing glasses for more than reading! She has all ready selected her frames and we have been told they could be ready as early as tomorrow or as late as Monday! Shawn and I are incredibly grateful for the Lions club and their generosity. Without their help Kelly's eyes would have had to waited for even longer.
I want to bring up a tragic accident here in Montgomery and ask for every one's prayers. This afternoon after dropping off a group of kids, a bus hit a 5 year old boy. The boy was taken to the hospital around the corner from us and he is in life threatening condition. I can only imagine what the family is going through. Or the bus driver for that matter!
Thank you for your prayers!

Appointments and Applications

No snow today! So school was as usual! We were able to reschedule Kelly's eye appointment for after school. I am glad for that, she has missed a lot of school as it ! I made it to my mandatory employment search appointment. These appointments are tedious and redundant! Whatever, I went! Today our furry little Izzy is testing all of her puppy boundaries! While I was in the meeting she pooped in the truck and got into everything she could! It has not been the best potty day for her! Something that will be dealt with with high attention today!  She is just a puppy! No other plans for today until Kelly's eye appointment, good a time as any to fill out some applications online!

TV

It was a quiet day! The only big disappointment was that our taxes haven't come in on time as posted. No real surprise and though we were disappointed no hard feelings. We called them and found out they mailed them later than what was said, no apologies, just they are in the mail. Kelly is off to youth group and we just enjoyed omelets for dinner! My favorite! Tomorrow is a busy day, I have to go to the career center to meet with a job counselor. I actually have been using them right along, this is just a formality. Kelly is supposed to have an eye appointment, we are considering rescheduling it because of all the school she missed all ready this week. That will be determined in the morning! If school is delayed or cancelled because of the weather, I guess she will keep the appointment! Shawn is enjoying some TV tonight, someone loaned us a digital antenna and it actually picks up quite a few channels and quite clearly. Shawn could not be more happy!  I realized that I can take or leave TV. Well that is that for tonight! Hope everyone had a good day and will have a good night!

Little Biter

A quiet day today! All though the weather is quite cold and they are expecting a dusting of snow here in Montgomery! Good thing I have all ready grocery shopped, here they shut everything down when the weather gets like this! If it starts up soon, school could  even have an early release! Right now Shawn and I are enjoying a quiet coffee together, Izzy looking repentant beside me on the floor! Her biting is getting out of hand and she just got a little swat1She will learn, that is our  ongoing chant! Now I am going to spend some time with my little biter!

Good News on the kelly Front!

Good news on the Kelly front! After a 2 hour appointment (yeah, that was fun! :( ), it was determined at this point there is nothing urgent about her cyst for now. They are putting her on a low dose of birth control pills, as a hormonal treatment. The hope is the hormones will change and shrink the cyst. In five weeks we will go back and Kelly will have another Ultrasound and see if it worked. I am praying that it will! If it works then that will be the course of action that she will follow if she gets another cyst. Surgery still could be a consideration if it does not shrink! I feel much better now that we have all the facts! And trust me when I tell you so is Kelly! I think she is mostly disappointed that her days of being served hand over foot will be coming to an end!!
I am enjoying a few minutes of down time before I am off to take the puppy for a short stroll down the street! She has had a very, very good day!

It's Tuesday

I slept absolutely terrible last night! I can not understand why as I was exhausted! I will report that over all we had a very good first night with Izzy! She found every stray sock and tore the heck out of her stick ( she insisted she wouldn't come into the house without this stick!)! Until around 2 in the morning when she finally curled up on my floor and went to sleep! She is fully ready to go this morning! Kelly has gone off to school this morning and later this afternoon she sees the specialist. So later on  I will update on how that went! It is a very, very cold morning this morning, brrrr! It feels almost like we are living back in New England! OH my gosh....I am a giant chew toy!!

A Very Good Day!

It continued to be a busy day right up until 6 this evening! The food stamps were worked out and we were able to use them today!! Praise the Lord! I started shopping when I received a call from the school letting me know Kelly needed to come home. So I had to stop and go pick up Kelly! I dropped her off at home with Izzy and went back out to finish grocery shopping! And I stocked up! It's the things we all keep in our kitchen that we have not had and missed. You know, mustard, relish, pickles, soy sauce etc.. It took some rearranging of our tiny kitchen to get it all to fit! And now we are all pretty tuckered out! Except Izzy, who appears to have an endless supply of energy! Yes, she is a chewer! We are now down 1 phone charger! We are going to have to puppy proof the house! We are all absolutely smitten by her! I am hoping we will all be able to get some sleep and not wake up to any puppy surprises in the morning! A little training and she will be perfect! I have to just say today things really feel like they are truly looking up! It has been a good day!

Izzy !

This morning has been busy all ready! Kelly insisted she wanted to go to school, so I had to meet with the school nurse. Now we will wait and see how long Kelly lasts! Then we went and well... we went and rescued a black lab puppy! I know that there are going to be a lot of nay Sayers about this! There was somebody in neighboring Pratville at risk of being evicted for having a puppy. So he put her up for free on Craigslist. I look there at times looking for things for the house. I saw the ad yesterday morning and could not ignore it! We need a little more joy in this house! So now we have a 4 month old bundle of energy and joy! Her name is Izzy and is extremely lovable and sweet! Our goal now is to teach her all sorts of new tricks! The cats are not as pleased by our new friend! I have also called to inquire about our food stamp benefits and am waiting to hear back from my case manager. Now the rest of the day will be making sure we all understand Izzy's potty signals, so the potty is on the outside of the house and not the inside! And to see if we can teach Trick to stop growling at her, because that is making Izzy bark like a fool!

Kelly's Getting Glasses!

Played cards with both girls, while we ate dinner. Just a very quiet and layed back day! Kelly is hoping her pain will be less tomorrow so that she can go to school. She has always loved school, so missing it is a big deal for her! I was so caught up in her health issues, I forgot to mention there is one health issue of hers that is getting taken care of this week! Her eyes! She is near sighted and needs glasses. Actually she had glasses and then broke them! We have not had the insurance or the money for them. When we were applying for services here, we were given a Lions club form for glasses and vision assistance. We qualified and Kelly sees the eye doctor on Thursday. We also have the form that will allow us to get her the glasses she will need when he gives us the prescription. So yay, she will be able to see the black board! I like it when the fixes are easy! Please, be in prayer that tomorrow we are able to figure out with the food stamps card! I have to call them and inquire why we did not receive the card by the 4th like we were told! We are so close to having all the benefits all set up, I can not wait until we are 100%! I hope you all have had a good weekend!

Voices in my head!

Today turned out to be a beautiful day! Shawn and I just enjoyed a walk, just the two of us! Kate Lynn and I had a wonderful time at church this morning! Kely has pretty much been in bed all day! Good thing she can keep herself amused for hours on the PC or cell phone! She did nap earlier and for that I am glad! Not a whole lot else going on! We have a few appointments this week and a couple of them are overlapping, going to have to figure that out! Kelly's follow up is on Tuesday, I may have mentioned that before! I have so much going on in my head, my thoughts are over lapping!! If only I heard voices and they could give me clear instruction everyday, I would be all set! OK I realize there is nothing sane about that! I guess now is good time to go drink my coffee! I do not wish for voices in my head!!

Sunny Sunday

I will have at least 15 minutes of this morning all to myself! I am waiting for my coffee to finish brewing and enjoying the quiet and the sun pouring in the windows! The girls are both sleeping and Shawn has made a mad dash to the store for ciggies. If he doesn't get them now, he will have to wait until after I get out of church after noon.  Kate Lynn will be up soon, she and I are going to church this morning. Kelly is grounded here to the house for at least today. She had a tough night. Because she never got her nap in, because she was waiting on her friend Alex to show up, she wore her self out and had a headache! Today I am going to steal her cell phone and PC away and force her to nap if I have too! No real plans today! It is going to be the nicest day of the week, so I may go for a walk! The weather here doesn't look at too great the next week. Lots of rain on and off and the temps down in the 30's. I have to tell you I really enjoyed those warmer days and can not wait to have them back! I saw the weather briefly for up North in New England, and it continues to snow and be stormy! You guys up there have been swamped! Despite the cold temperatures here, we chose the best winter to come down here! Stay safe up there! I hope everyone has a great Sunday! And for all of you watching the Superbowl, have fun!!

Quiet Saturday!

It was a pretty quiet day! Our big excitement was running to purchase a rake handle and then to the Dollar store for cleaning supplies! One of our neighborhood kids asked if he could rake for a couple dollars and was doing such a fantastic and aggressive job the rake broke! We have gotten to know this young man, because Shawn saw him walking to school and now drives him in with Kelly. Good kid, he is a Senior and is in the Army Reserves. It seems he has a pretty tough situation. He lives with just his older brother and I think financially they may even be worse off than we are! I was just thrilled I won't be raking that huge back yard! He will be back tomorrow to complete the project, God bless him! We then spent the rest of the afternoon making sure the house was completely acceptable,as we were expecting company at 6pm. Literally 5 minutes before they were to show up, the mom had her son text  Kelly and tell us that they had other plans and were not coming! Now I have this huge pot of coffee, hot water for tea and a platter of cookies and I guess they will be bagged up and poured out! I have to be frank and just say it was in poor taste not to call sooner! I will have to think hard on inviting her over again! The mom kept telling her son, to tell Kelly to let us know she was going to be stopping by, when I asked her to nail down a more specific town, she couldn't. So I graciously invited her over for coffee! And the worse thing about it all, Kelly is so struggling with drowsiness from the pain meds and never napped this afternoon, now she is beyond wiped out! And hugely disappointed! She has just gone to bed! The good news, as I write this Kate Lynn has made nice work of the cookies! Well, I will try not to be too judgemental and we will see what happens! Besides now I can got church and know the house is spotless and the yard is raked tomorrow! Unlike most everybody else, there will be no Superbowl here! Trust me we are sad too, not hugely because the Patriots aren't in it, but we like to watch any ways! I guess I might go have a cup of tea...or two...or three...

Today IS Saturday!

The sun is out this morning, yay! Still pretty cold, that is OK! We all slept very good! Kelly by drugs, the rest of us by necessity! It is going to be a pretty quiet day and I think that will be OK. Shawn and I were so wrapped up in things yesterday that we did not realize that our food stamp card still has not come in. It was supposed to be in yesterday, we will wait to see if it arrives today. We have food in the house, so there are no worries there. My concern is our fellow mail campers! I am praying that while we were preoccupied they  did not help themselves to our mail! I am going to have to see what comes in the mail and if it isn't there, on Monday I will call the office. We are definitely approved for them, we have received all the proper documents. I am just hoping they were late in mailing them and not that we will be dealing with legal crap because some one stole our card! I am not the least concerned over it today! I think at one point this weekend, it may be high priority that Shawn and I, just the 2 of us go have a coffee and sit by ourselves for just a little while.  Just so you all know, I know today is Saturday! Happy Saturday!

OH!

I need to invest in a calendar! I spent the better part of the day thinking it was Saturday! It wasn't until after dinner that I was enlightened! So I guess I will NOT be going to church tomorrow! I will be going on Sunday though! If all this stress keeps up I am going to have my name and address tattooed to the back of my hands! I think for now, I need to go brush my teeth and head to bed and stay there until the sun has come WAY up in the sky tomorrow! I stayed up too late, Kelly managed to stay awake long enough to play Rummy with Kate Lynn and I. Now it looks like she may be sleeping on the couch! She is way too big for me to carry to bed any more!! And it would be tough to explain to the emergency room why she was dropped and then crushed by her mother on the way too bed! And having been there all ready once, once is enough! The couch it is!

Chocolate Milkshakes!

I took Kate Lynn out this afternoon so that Kelly could sleep! And sleep she did! The Tramadol shot knocked her out! Poor kid woke up just as we were coming in the door. Just in time to eat dinner, take some more pain meds and fall asleep again! At least while she is sleeping she isn't in any pain!
Kate Lynn and I wandered around the flea market stores and then decided we just wanted to be home! It is pouring rain here, all day! The traffic is insane! So we stopped and grabbed a few more groceries and then at Sonics to grab 4 chocolate shakes to go with dinner! I have dinner in the oven and hopefully after everyone has drank most of their shake they will still want to eat! I think it will be an early night to bed. Tomorrow Kate Lynn and I have church, looking forward to that! For all the words of encouragement, Thank You!

Prayers for Kelly!

It has been a tough day! Kelly's pain was quite intolerable and she did not sleep well last night. At 7:30 this morning Shawn and I decided it would be best to take her to the emergency room. We figured she either had a stomach bug or a Kidney infection. The Doctor ordered some blood work and an x-ray. Then decided to do a cat scan, we  were thinking that it was nice that he was being thorough, even if it seemed excessive. After the cat scan the Nurse came back into the room to explain that Kelly needed to be catheterized and have a pelvic ultra sound. The Doctor came in quickly after to explain that they had seen something on her right ovary, a mass of sorts. Kelly was feeling pretty scared by then (I can only tell you that it was by the Grace of God I didn't pass out at that point!) Shawn and I chewed off every nail we had waiting for the results of that test! It is determined Kelly has a complicated cyst on her right ovary, it does NOT appear to be cancer! Please, erase that worry from your minds. The Doctor was very reassuring about that! However, Kelly is on complete bed rest for the next few days and needs to see an another Doctor early next week to determine the course of action for this. Right now we are trying to stay very calm in the reassurance the Doctor gave us that it could be easily and very treatable. We are pretty concerned more about keeping her comfortable and still the next few days, than that it will be any more serious. She will be taking pain meds for the next couple days, I suspect that will keep her drowsy enough to keep her down! I ask with all of my heart that you all keep Kelly in your prayers! For all of our family, please have an easy heart! We will keep you up to date with every thing and of course if any thing of serious concern comes up, we will call you and talk with you!

Me and My One Eye!

Oh  Dear! What a day! We recieved Shawn's first check today! Horray, right? We go to Winn Dixie to cash it, it is in my name as I am Shawn's reppayee, I also have an expired license! Something I never considered! How could I, I didn't have the money to get one today and then I couldn't cash the check, to get the license to have the ID, I needed to cash the check! Shawn's friend went with me to pay for my license to be switched over to Alabama, then I could cash the check and then pay him back....right? No! Because I have 20/20 vision in my right eye, AND 20/300 in the left eye (yes, you read that right!) and no I do NOT wear glasses, they do not work! So then I am told I have to go to an Optomitrist! Shawn pulls into the first one he sees, I have NO sense of humor at this point, because I certianly do not have the money for this and I suspect I will be making an appointment for March! The Optomitrist thinks I am the funniest thing he has seen in a while, all the while offering me his number so that he can be forwarned when I will be on the road driving, with my blind self. At that time he didn't understand how blind myself was! Shawn's friend finding some humor in this graciously pays the $70 eye test fee and I find myself  in the eye chair! He goes about testing my vision and asking me all about my history. (Still giggling!) He tells me he understands why glasses will not work and neither will surgery, but he has a neat idea, very excited for himself, he is going to special order one high (because of the 300!) contact lense! I will wear the ONE contact lense for a week and then go back to be tested with it, to see if it is working! He fills out my license form, with NO driving restrictions! I go back and hand the form to the very perplexed Probate officer, he was struggling to understand how in less than an hour could I have been tested, and have a contact lens that would fix the problem and according to the Doctor, there could be a possibility with the ONE lense my 20/300 vision would be more like 20/30 or so! But I hadn't worn the lense to prove it true or not, it will be in in a week or so! Rather than argue with me, I was given my Alabama license! And after 4 hours we were finally able to cash the checks and pay back Shawn's friend!  I guess we should have expected something like this! It is simply how things have gone! I knew the day was going to be an interesting day, this morning I was struggling with panic attacks, Kelly was home from school sick and Kate Lynn was a bit edgy! As I write this we are all feeling a bit better! We spent the night watching "Despicable Me". We needed a little funny in our day!As it goes, I will be mailing back $10 anonomously to the DMV, they gave us back too much change! And Shawn's disability is all set and that means we are getting back on our feet! Despite the roller coaster day, we have much to be thankfully for! It is said the Lord works in mysterious ways, I believe that with all my heart!

Kelly's Feeling Sick!

Shawn no sooner got back home, from dropping Kelly off at school, when the school called! Kelly was feeling sick to her stomach and needed to come home! She had had a migraine yesterday and I think was just not feeling well today. She is resting on the couch while I bring her tea and toast. She is slowly working her ways through the videos, her Aunt Theresa, Uncle Rich, Sam and Meaghan had sent her for her Birthday! She has a warm pack on her belly and is looking pretty comfortable! Hope it is just from the migraine and nothing else. We need a stomach bug in this house like we all need a hole in the head!  It is actually pretty cold here in Montgomery this morning and there is a freezing rain warning! What can I tell you, near 80 this past Saturday to cold and freezing rain today! I guess I needed to be reminded that it is still winter!
Well, today is the big day...sort of! Today is supposed to be the first day of Shawn's disabilty! Let's see if they have actually followed through with all of it. Again, we wait on the mail! You know until all of this,I never paid much attention to the mail. In honesty there would be days I would forget to check our Post Office box! Now it seems our life hinges on what comes or doesn't come in the mail! UUGGH! I am killing time by washing all the bedding in the house! I have always kept a pretty clean house, but this has taken on a whole new level! Will keep you posted!

Calmer

We were graciously given a small loan to enable us to buy some groceries to get us through the next few days! I ask Kelly what she wants for her birthday dinner?.....$5 so that she can go to a church dinner and then youth group with a classmate! What do I say to that? I bought the groceries we needed, put gas in the car, purchased a small cake and then gave her the last $5 so she could go! I didn't think it was in good form to tell her "no you can't go to church!". It also allowed Shawn, Kate Lynn and I the opportunity to enjoy some frozen pizza for dinner! Kelly can not eat regular pizza because it upsets her stomach! She is having chicken fried steak for dinner. And when she get home we will all enjoy some birthday cake with her!
I have to just tell you, I can not tell you how good the day will be, when we do not have to ask for so much help! I am most appreciative of the kindness and generosity we have received. It has been a true lesson in humility and humbleness! I pray that given the opportunity that we are able to either pay back or pay forward the same kind of kindness and generosity that we have been shown!
Tonight I received a text message directing me to check out a local hospice looking for pharmacy techs. I have sent them an email, as directed, and am hoping I might at least receive an email in return!  Today I think for the most part, has been a better day for patience. None of us were terribly upset when we did not receive anything in the mail. We continue to be prayerful and steadfast in our faith! It will happen, for that we are certain! And in that thought, we can stay calmer!

No Benefits Today!

Pretty disappointed to find nothing in the mail today! We were so hoping the food stamps card would be in at the very least! Tomorrow is supposed to be the first day that we are to receive Shawn's disability. If that comes in tomorrow it will be most helpful! We are discouraged!  I think it just makes me sad that the food stamps didn't come in today, because I can't go get a cake mix to bake a cake for Kelly! We are having to ask a friend of Shawn's if he could float us a loan until tomorrow. We are so sick of asking for help! It makes us feel like such heels! No, worse than that! We will make good on our debts as soon as we are able! Trust me when I tell you that is our first priority! Well, just the update on the mail! No company today waiting for the mail! Praise the Lord for that!

*Bonus Posting* Useless, but Fun Groundhog Knowledge!

Punxsutawney Phil has predicted that it will be an early spring!
Today was the 125th Ground Hog day for Punxsutawney Phil (maybe not the exact same one!)

This is a German superstition, if a hibernating animal casts a a shadow on February 2, the Christian holiday, Candlemas, winter will last another 6 weeks. If there is no shadow then there will be an early spring.
Phil has seen his shadow 98 times and just 16 times since 1887.

Just thought you might like to know!

Kelly's Birthday!

There was no before bed post last night. I had another headache, easy enough to blame stress. All though yesterdays may have had more to do with the weather. I went to bed early, when I knew it was going to be a nasty headache, all we have in the house is low dose aspirin! I took 8 and went to bed.  I slept pretty well and am feeling better this morning!
Today is Kelly's birthday! She is 17 today! It is funny but her birthday always tugs at me more than Kate Lynn's. Maybe because I keep thinking "OK Kate Lynn is growing up, but there is still Kelly". There will have to be a time that I have to just admit they are BOTH growing up! Guess today is as good a day as any! I mean really! Kelly has just another year of high school! Don't want to push that yet! She is 17 today!! I don't know what she wants to be when she graduates and continues out on her own. I do suspect that it will be helping, either people or animals. She is a very compassionate young lady! Happy Birthday, Kelly!! I love you!

I am Sorry!

OK my last post sounded like it was written by a three year old, throwing a temper tantrum! I apologize! My anxiety is just so high and having 2 people drinking beer and holding fort on our front lawn didn't help much! Tomorrow we may just go ahead and call the police if they show up! He has had over 2 months to have his mailed all arranged and I think we were more than gracious today. I have just eaten dinner and may go have a cup of tea, that may help me settle down some! Again, for my ranting in my last post, I am sorry!

Another Day of NOTHING!!

Well the mail has finally come! And NO big surprise, NO mail! Not one stinking thing!! So it is back to waiting to see if sometime between now and the 4th we get something!!! I am so angry and so frustrated!I am struggling with this last bit of waiting like I can not even express to you! We have enough to get us by the next day or two and that is pretty stinking slim! Why can not ONE of these agencies just for once get their stuff together and get it out!? The good news is the two guys waiting and drinking on the lawn have left! Empty handed from what I understand! We will see what happens tomorrow! What I think really makes me so upset, tomorrow is Kelly's birthday. I can not even bake the kid a cake or even make her dinner that is worth eating! So we wait some more!

Mail Watch and a Show!

Today's mail watch has taken on all a whole new meaning of anxiety! At 9:30 this morning a car pulled up with a couple gentlemen in it, one whom jumped out and proceeded to come right up onto the porch and check our mail. He was the last tenant and he apparently never changed his address and is expecting something. It seems it will be coming here. They have pretty much set up camp out front. Drinking beer and urinating on our neighbors lawn! We are trying to keep quiet and prevent any real issues! However, Shawn and I have some very real concerns about them and what may happen if their mail does not come here. Shawn has informed them that we had put a stop to all other mail and suggested they try the Post Office, he was ignored! When we first moved in we had problems with people showing up and rifling through our mail so we put a stop to all mail other than O'Callaghan mail. We even posted it on the mail box to deter people from helping themselves. This had been working until today! I am praying their mail comes and they will simply go away and we will have no other issues. Shawn and I have dicussed what may have to be done if there are problems! And that may entail all new locks and some window alarms you buy at any hardware store! It also may  mean involving the police. Good grief! All we want is our mail! And today we have a show while waiting for our mail! This anxiety doesn't come from paranoia! Some items we found in the house when we were moving in gave us a clear indicationas to the previous tenants habits and life style. None that represent ours and are concerning! Please, be in prayer for this! Well, I may need to log off the PC sounds like the thunderstorms they have been promising all day have rolled in! Will keep you posted!

Happy February!

Today is the first day of February and I am praying that at least one of the benefits will be in  today! I am trying to stay optimistic that this month many new and good things will happen! Again another day with out any plans! However, after the mail has come, that may change! Please, be in prayer, there was some sort of issues with the mail yesterday. The mail on our street did not get delivered until almost 4:30pm and they had two mail carriers rushing to get it all out. I pray that whatever the issues were yesterday, that they have been ironed out and the mail will arrive at its usual time.
Happy February!
